Leadership
At New Jersey United Christian Academy, our main focus besides Solid Academics and Biblical Truth is Leadership Development. At NJUCA your child will learn and gain vital leadership skills and will be pushed to excel in leadership. We believe that the teenagers of today are the adults of tomorow and we want to make sure that we equip our students with excellent leadership skills so that he/she will be able to take on the ever-changing world.
Below are areas within our leadership Program:
SGA (Student Government Association) - The Student Government Association helps to run all of the schools non-ministry activies. Student Government helps put on events such as the parent appreciation dinner, cookie drives, coffee house on Friday mornings during homeroom, and the school store during the lunch period.
S.W.A.T. Team (Spiritual Worship And Teaching Team) - The S.W.A.T Team is a completely student run organization that leads the school in all of the spiritual activities and in spiritual moral. The S.W.A.T Team includes a president, a vice-president, and a series of S.W.A.T officers each with a specific duty that they are responsible to fulfill. One Officer might be in charge of all of the outside ministries that the school attends while another might be in charge of the worship during chapel. The purpose of the officers is to make sure that the goals set by the president and vice-president are efficiently accomplished. The S.W.A.T Team is 100% student run and is a very big part of New Jersey United Christian Academy.
Passion Groups - Students are given the opportunity to lead and take ownership of their own passions and gifts. Students develop a program, committee, or event utilizing and developing the leadership skills taught during leadership class while focusing on the students' specific passions. Here are a few examples: L.Y.F.E.(Lively Youth For Elderly) is a ministry group traveling on a regular basis to local elderly homes. The morning devotions & study time is a group of dorm girls meeting each morning at 5:30am to spend time with God and study for school. The 24 Hour Prayer event was a one day 24 hour prayer event sponsored by a student who recruited individuals from all over the world to pray during an allotted time for this generation and the school.
Athletic Teams - Students develop leadership skills, such as discipline, teamwork, vision, commitment, right attitude, etc., while participating on a sports team. Leadership is not limited to a Captain or Coach. Leadership can be developed in each individual position by using it as a means of influencing others.
